I was born and spent my childhood in South Africa.
After completing my high school studies in a liberal yet sheltered family environment, I was drawn to leave apartheid South Africa and moved to Jerusalem where I began my undergraduate studies in languages and linguistics.
My student years were interlaced with bouts of extensive travel, which took me to the South American and East Asian continents.
On one of these trips I discovered India and a deep seed was sown which would bring me back years later to embark on a profound journey of self-discovery and deepening awareness.
I finally moved to India in 2000, spent 3 years exploring different disciplines that supported the expansion of consciousness and found Auroville in 2003, guided by my first child, who was then in-utero.
In Auroville I found an intentional community that spoke to my heart, and the Integral Education, which appealed to all planes of my being.
I also discovered ATB (Awareness Through the Body) which takes the cornerstones of the Integral Yoga and Integral Education into a liveable practice, a profound and magical tool through which both children and adults can explore their beings.
Three children came through me and into our world during my first eight years in Auroville.
Zohar, Laya and Sophia have been my biggest teachers and the journey of their education has been a tool and vehicle for me to practice stepping out of my automatic reactions and changing learned patterns of behaviour.
In Auroville, I joined a forest community, taught baby swimming, opened Tamarind Bakery and in 2010, together with a group of diverse and inspired individuals, founded The Learning Community (TLC).
We were 7 adults and 7 children aiming at creating a living and learning community to implement the principles of Integral Education within Auroville.
My journey with TLC has been one of unending growth, deepening connection and has posed challenges which have led to the enrichment and fine-tuning of the goals and implementation of this inspiring project.
Auroville has become my home, it has offered a haven for the actualisation of my deepest aspirations, and a place where gratitude is at the heart of my everyday reality.
